Co-hosted by Kids Rights Canada and DCI-Canada on April 20, 2026, this webinar brought together Heidi Chan and Irwin Elman to rethink the current push for youth social media bans. Instead of a “protection-only” approach that isolates children, the panel advocated for a “Digital Citizenship” approach. The discussion highlighted that we must empower children as active rights-holders rather than passive subjects, in accordance with the UNCRC’s principles of child participation.
