Mission Statement
Grounded in the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Kids Rights Canada is committed to advocating for and safeguarding rights of children in Canada. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we empower children’s voices, such that they are recognized, valued, and included in society’s decision making processes.
Objectives
- Deliver accessible and age-appropriate civic and child rights education to children across Canada to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for meaningful civic participation.
- Promote awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) among children, emphasizing both their rights and corresponding responsibilities
- Empower children to engage in formal decision-making processes in alignment with Article 12 of the UNCRC, which upholds the right of children to be heard in matters affecting them
